KidsMAT is a unique performing arts summer camp experience for children ages 5-15. Kids learn all aspects of theatre production including story and script development, acting, costuming, and technical aspects. Camps are held in various locations throughout northcentral Montana. Kids attend Monday-Thursday 9am-3pm culminating in a short production Thursday evening. Camps begin in the middle of June.

Camp fees include a t-shirt and water bottle. Scholarships are available.

MAT is committed to providing a safe environment for our participants and audience. Due to COVID-19, all KidsMAT camps will take place outdoors in public parks and the final performance will as well. 
In addition, all camps will be strictly limited to 25 participants. 
This year, all MAT interns, who run the camps, are local students so as to eliminate the risk of exposure from outside communities.  Finally, all materials needed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation will be available and safe practices will be implemented.

MAT opens theater camps, youth play auditions

The local acting troupe is putting on its first KidsMAT Camp of the summer this week in Havre, followed by auditions Friday and Saturday for its youth production of “She Kills Monsters.”
Montana Actors’ Theatre Artistic Director Jay Pyette said the children’s theater camps are essential to MAT’s purpose.

First KidsMAT production opens tonight

A summer camp has been going on for around 20 years but it officially became an intern-led theatre camp called KidsMAT four years ago.
