The Montana Actors’ Theatre believes that artistic and creative experiences for children are essential to the health and vitality of our community. For the past 20+ years, thousands of children in Havre and along the Hi-Line have participated in our youth programs.
KidsMAT is a summer-time educational performing arts camp for children grades K-8 in which participants learn in an environment that encourages creative growth through theatre performance, management, and production. KidsMAT takes theatre camp to a new level by encouraging kids to take part in every aspect of the creative process. Through collaboration and guidance, the kids develop the story, create the costumes, build the set, and perform the play.
For the past four summers, MAT has hired college students or recent college graduates as paid interns in our Young Professionals Program. These young adults manage and direct the KidsMAT touring children’s camps and the Youth Production. Interns gain valuable practical experience, professional development, and artistic opportunity.
2019 intern applications are being accepted until April 30, 2019.
The Youth Production provides middle and high school-aged students the opportunity to participate in fully-staged productions. Participants learn every aspect of theatrical production and develop the discipline to create a polished, professional show. This year’s production of She Kills Monsters will take place July 25-27 and August 1-3.
Montana Actors’ Theatre offers several paid internships for college students and recent college graduates. Interns oversee the youth programs including our touring KidsMAT Summer Children’s Theatre camps and our annual Youth Production (which this summer will be She Kills Monsters)!
MAT provides a generous stipend, housing, and a great experience! Get practical experience in the performing arts such as directing, stage management, lighting and sound, set design and construction, costuming, working with youth, and more! Applicants must be available from mid June to mid August.
Complete the online application by April 30, 2019.
Priority is given to students attending a Montana college or university or previous Montana high school students.
